Metal mechanics and plastics
In the Mechanics Engineering Department, we use the latest computer technology, with specialized 3D software for resistance calculation of mechanic elements. We cooperate with technological institutions such as AIMME (Metal Mechanics Technological Institute) and AIMPLAS (Association for Research on Plastic Materials). For the manufacturing of buoys, towers and all kind of structures related to the field of aids to navigation, we rely on different foundry, machining and profiling workshops, in both marine and stainless steel, aluminium and any other metallic material resistant to marine environment. We also rely on appropriate factories for shaping and injection of high-performance technical plastics for Optics and Engineering, composite injection processes and different treatments of rotomoulded polyethylene or elastomer polyurethane, as well as glass reinforced polyester (GRP).

Our Optics Department, using the latest technology available in manufacturing and testing systems for optics as well as for lamps, enables our products to compete with the main manufacturers in the sector. In order to adopt the latest technologies in the field of Optics, we have found in AIDO (Industrial Association of Optics), an essential support since its foundation. Continuous innovation and effective Research and Development, from the use of glass optics to modern optics made through plastic injection process compatible with new LED technology, have enabled our products to comply with the requirements of our clients, and with all IALA Recommendations.
In our Photometric Laboratory, all the necessary tests are performed to guarantee the perfect operation of the equipments and to achieve the maximum light output. Our interest in improving aids to navigation systems has led us to get involved in different European projects, such as DESMEMLUCSS, financed by the European Union, that has allowed to establish a standardised measurement method of luminous characterization of sea signals. This method has been considered as the basis for a future worldwide standard accepted by IALA, CIE and CEN.

n our Electronics Department, we constantly endeavour to apply the latest technical advances to our equipment, with low-consumption and high technology systems such as FLASH micro-controllers and Light Emitting Diodes (LED). All the electronic equipment have a high level of reliability and heavy-duty serviceability, in order to guarantee a safe operation under the worst marine conditions. To ensure an optimal operation, different control systems are used in our equipment, including double control circuitry and a high grade of protection in inputs and outputs. All our equipment is ready to be connected to a remote control system that allows the remote supervision of the equipment status in real time. Our own Remote Monitoring & Control System can be easily adapted to any requirement from the customer. We have also incorporated in our equipment the most advanced Automatic Identification System (AIS) technology. For the design, programming and subsequent fabrication of electronic equipment, we use state-of-the-art computer technology, in cooperation with the Institute for Electric Technology (ITE) of the Polytechnics University in Valencia.

LMV has a quality management system for the design, manufacture, installation and commercialization of lighthouses and aids to navigation, both marine and waterways. This system is implemented according to ISO9001:2000 Standard, as accredited by the certification issued by Bureau Veritas Quality International. Our product design and manufacturing systems guarantee a high reliability and availability even in the most severe marine conditions. We achieve this target by combining simplicity of design with the most advanced technology.
Our training, research and development programs allow us to offer our clients a continuous improvement in the equipment supplied. All finished products and their components pass through different quality controls along their manufacturing process. We understand quality as our commitment for the satisfaction of our customers requirements. For complex projects, we collaborate with Inspection Societies such as Bureau Veritas, in order to elaborate complementary verification and certification plans that guarantee the appropriate operability in each case.
